Allocation
Each and every Claire’s store has to have just the right products to meet our customers’ needs. That’s where Allocation comes in—it directs the flow of products to stores based on sales and inventory budgets, determined by merchandise chain planning.

Buying
The Buying Department is responsible for sourcing and developing merchandise—a vital role at Claire’s. They negotiate with and travel to domestic and international vendors to keep our stores filled with thousands of unique and trending products our customers will crave season after season.

Design
Claire’s has always been a leading source of fashion. Our Design Department blazes the trail in providing compelling, fashion forward, fun, fresh and creative merchandise for our customers. They also collaborate with other teams throughout the company to drive positive sales growth and promote Claire’s vision through its merchandise.

Distribution Center
The Distribution Centers are the hub of product activity for Claire’s. Here we receive all of our products from various vendors, check for accuracy and quality, and ready the merchandise for shipment to Claire’s stores around the world.

E-Commerce
The E-Commerce Department is the driver of site operations for our consumer website, www.claires.com. They ensure the timely and accurate deployment of new products, updates and pricing changes from a site operation perspective. The team also prides itself on implementing the best strategies to create the ultimate customer experience online.

Finance
Finance reviews corporate budgets and works closely with Buyers and Merchandisers/Planners to monitor the buying and selling process of merchandise, ensuring our continued profitability. Within the Finance function you’ll find Payroll, Banking, Accounting, Purchase Ledger, Treasury, Financial Planning and Reporting and Taxation.

Human Resources (HR)
Our associates are what makes Claire’s so successful, and being available to them is a priority for us. That’s where Human Resources steps in, by supporting our thousands of Claire’s Associates globally in a variety of ways including: Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations, HR Information Systems, Recruitment and Training.

Information Technology (IT)
IT encompasses many different areas and provides support to Retail stores globally. Functions within this department include: Application Systems, Development, Infrastructure and Retail Systems. They are also responsible for designing, testing and maintaining all computer systems used at Claire’s.

In Store Presentation
To drive sales it’s vital to catch our customers’ eye and make it easy for them to navigate our stores. It’s the In Store Presentation team’s role to determine the placement of merchandise in our stores and create planograms, which result in the most effective presentation of merchandise, making shopping at Claire’s enjoyable for our customers—and more profitable for us.

International Franchise
Associates in this department perform buying, planning, exporting, shipping and allocation functions for Claire’s franchises worldwide. They base assortments on special franchise needs, and interact with Claire’s Buying and Planning teams and global partners. They help fulfill our mission to be the most loved accessories brand in the world.

Legal
This department provides legal counsel to all areas of Claire’s. The team collaborates with management on the development and implementation of our corporate policies and procedures. It also works directly with outside council on litigation matters.

Logistics
Logistics handles the domestic and international movement of all our merchandise. They negotiate with carriers to find the most cost effective, quickest routes for our merchandise to arrive at our Distribution Centers and send our product out to thousands of Claire’s stores.

Loss Prevention
Loss Prevention handles all procedures regarding security, theft and inventory control in all our stores, Support Offices and our Distribution Centers.

Marketing
Marketing creates our global identity and works with various media channels and events to advertise and promote our Claire’s brand. They are also responsible for controlling the marketing calendar, as well as all store graphics production and delivery.

Merchandising/Planning
Merchandising/Planning is responsible for seasonal chain plans, which determine sales and inventory goals for all merchandise departments. Partnering with Buying and Allocation, Merchandising/Planning manages the inventory for Claire’s stores globally.

Procurement/Supplies
Procurement/Supplies provides the initial provisioning and replenishment of supplies and fixtures for our stores, support offices and distribution centers. It sources strategically, negotiates and manages contracts to obtain better deals at lower costs.

Quality Assurance
The primary function of the Quality Assurance Department is to ensure that all of the products that Claire’s sells globally are safe, comply with the law and meet our Company’s quality standards. They are responsible for monitoring and keeping up to date with all developments that affect the manufacture/production of our merchandise.

Real Estate and Construction
Real Estate and Construction are involved in identifying new store opportunities and negotiating leases for all new store openings, store closures, lease renewals and rent reviews. They are also responsible for general portfolio management, remodels and property management.

Strategic New Businesses
In an effort to continue expanding our brand worldwide, the Strategic New Businesses Department focuses on the development of new business initiatives from an analytical approach and implementing new ideas to drive growth and profitability for Claire’s globally.

Store Operations
Store Operations’ responsibility is to ensure support for customers and our stores by planning, organizing and communicating for programs, launches and tasks in a timely manner, enabling our stores to focus on driving sales. Functions within Store Operations include Store Communication, Customer Service, Translation, Labour Analysis and Maintenance.
